The so-called koempel rooms, named after the Limburg word for miners, were constructed with the knowledge and materials of the Nederlands Mijnmuseum in Heerlen, tying the game to the region's coal-mining past. Because the red and blue mines are identical, two teams of two to five can race each other within the hour, or a single team can play alone.
