About
Each cell shows its difficulty and required skills on the door, a light indicates whether it is free, and once inside the team has between two and five minutes to complete a physical, tactical or puzzle task, with a sound signalling success or failure. Cells can be replayed to improve the score, and results appear on a TV screen during and after the game, so groups can chase the high score. Prison Area is recommended from age 12 and is one of several activities at Powerarea in the far southeast of Limburg, which also hosts company outings, children's birthdays and parties.
The games
1 game to choose from
Prison Area at Powerarea in Lemiers-Vaals is described as a mix of escape rooms and Fort Boyard. Teams of two to four wear a badge that opens the doors of a cell complex, tackling cells that mix puzzles, tactical thinking and physical tasks. Each cell shows its difficulty and the skills it needs, a light outside tells you if it is free, and the clock runs from the moment the door opens, with two to five minutes per task.
The experience
The atmosphere and the groups this venue has in mind.
Atmosphere
Quick and competitive: a sound in the cell says whether you passed, you can replay failed cells, and scores appear live on a TV screen. Violence is neither allowed nor needed. The complex sits within a large activity park with karting, lasertag, bowling and karaoke, so groups often chain several attractions.
Who it suits
Birthday groups, stag parties, company outings and families with children aged 12 and up, who want something more active than a standard puzzle room. Combination packages team Prison Area with karting, lasertag or bowling.
