Hidden beneath the earth and five storeys high, the fort has stood for some 150 years where the Waal, Rhine and Pannerdensch Kanaal meet, and its roof offers wide views over the river landscape. Escape room Elements is booked together with an entrance ticket for groups of four to six, who always play with their own group in a private time slot, while the site's theme of facing water, earth, air and fire runs through the rest of the visit. Other programmes include family expeditions, guided story tours, a moat walk, a cannon demonstration and a visitor centre, and entry is free with a Museumkaart.

Fort Pannerden, a UNESCO-listed fort of the New Dutch Waterline hidden underground near Doornenburg, offers three puzzle experiences. Escape Room Elements is a real-life game of roughly 90 minutes for groups of four to six aged 12 and up, in which you conquer room after room of the fort; Elements in het donker is an evening edition played in the dark corridors for three to six players; and Expeditie Pannerden is a 45-minute treasure hunt for families with children aged 6 to 12 following the pocketbook clues of First World War soldier Willem Derksen.
