About
The Classroom, the room the venue started with in 2017, is the usual choice for first-timers, while The Clinic, for two to six players, is popular with groups that have a few escapes behind them. The Contamination is built specifically for two people, and the newest room, The Community, takes two to five seasoned escapers and is explicitly not meant for beginners. The venue on Zutphenseweg hosts friends, families, company outings and teambuilding sessions, and can follow a game with drinks.
The games
4 games to choose from
Forsaken Escape Room in Deventer has four rooms, each with a stated target audience. The Classroom, set in an old bunker school said to be haunted by a child's ghost, is the beginners' room (60 minutes); The Clinic, a psychiatric hospital you sneak into with a doctor's pass, suits more experienced groups (75 minutes); The Contamination is made for two players racing to stop a gas leak and brew an antidote (60 minutes); and The Community is a puzzle-heavy 100-minute game recommended only for experienced escapers.

The experience
The atmosphere and the groups this venue has in mind.
Atmosphere
Rooms use atmosphere over jump-scare theatrics: there are no actors chasing you, but in The Clinic and The Community you are not entirely alone in the room, and the venue asks guests with phobias or who dislike this to say so when booking. A waiting area is available for groups who play after each other.
Who it suits
First-timers can start in The Classroom, couples and pairs have their own room in The Contamination, and experienced puzzlers can go for The Clinic or The Community (aimed at people who have played ten or more rooms). Families, friends, company outings and teambuilding are all welcome, with up to 20 people playing at once across the four rooms.
Good to know
Intensity, accessibility, booking and facilities, as the venue lists them.
The Clinic and The Community include a passive actor and can feel tense, though the venue says it does not use scary actors who chase or touch players. The Clinic carries an epilepsy warning, and The Classroom and The Contamination have no actors at all.
Shown only where the venue confirms it. A feature missing here is not confirmed either way.
Rooms are booked online and can be played in Dutch or English. The Classroom, Clinic and Contamination are open to those aged 12 or 16 and up unless accompanied, and The Community requires 16. Occasionally a seventh player in The Classroom is allowed for a supplement, and The Community is best with five.
