About
Beatrice Taylor is smart, stylish and a gifted chemist who rents a space in the heart of Utrecht, and teams of two to eight must use all their senses to find out what she is cooking up before the clock runs out. The room is a tribute to Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, who was also a fighter pilot and secret agent. It sits in the historic canal area, about ten minutes' walk from Utrecht Centraal next to a parking garage, and a visit takes about 90 minutes in total. For larger groups, the same team runs Evermore, a game about Utrecht traders and a black bird for 14 to 36 players in a monastery vault or on location.

The Queen is a one-room, 60-minute escape game in the Utrecht wharf cellar on the Oudegracht, run by the Subcultures game shop. You meet Beatrice Taylor, a clever and stylish chemist who rents a space in the old city centre, and must work out what she is up to. A second format, Evermore, is a real adventure game for 14 to 36 players with two game masters or actors over 1.5 to 2 hours.

The designers wanted more than a pile of puzzles, so they mixed original puzzle design, hidden technology and theatrical role-play, with the surreal tone of Roald Dahl as inspiration. The cellar location is historic, and the shop next door offers board games to extend the evening.
