About
The story goes that renovation work in the hotel cellar uncovered a forgotten defensive structure, and the municipality halted the work because it was linked to the vanishing of Reinoud Evertszoon, an important figure in Asperen's past. Before the official investigation begins and forces a three-month closure, an outside team of two to six players has one hour to solve the case through old documents, hidden clues and centuries-old secrets. Run by Activiteiten Asperen, the game is aimed at friends, families and company outings in the Betuwe.
The games
2 games to choose from
Activiteiten Asperen runs two story-led games rooted in the town's own history. Het Verborgen Verhaal is a one-hour escape room in the cellar of Hotel De Schildkamp, where a hidden 16th-century defensive structure and the disappearance of local figure Reinoud Evertszoon send teams of two to six hunting through old documents and concealed clues. Het geheim van Asperen is a 3-kilometre app-guided walk through the historic centre that takes 90 to 120 minutes and unlocks the same mystery at real locations, one puzzle at a time.
