Boerderijrecreatie Delfstrahuizen runs escape room games in Delfstrahuizen, the Netherlands. Themes include mystery, played as live escape rooms. Groups such as families, company teams and large groups are welcome. It also hosts team building and company events. You can book online, by phone or by email.
About
The game revolves around Beppe Afke, who spent her life on the old farmstead and spoke of hidden jewels before she died; teams search the house for them within 60 minutes of play. Rather than locking people in, it works as an inscape that moves through several rooms, and two parallel games let groups of 2 to 10 play at once, with larger groups of up to 48 starting in staggered waves. It is meant for adults, families with older helpers, teams and companies rather than children's parties, and can be paired with other farm activities such as fierljeppen, a campsite stay or a meal on site.
The games
2 games to choose from
Boerderijrecreatie, a working dairy farm on the Tjeukemeer, has two escape games set in its historic stolp farmhouse, both about 60 minutes of play inside a 90-minute programme. In De juwelen van beppe Afke, you hunt for the jewellery that a late grandmother kept hinting about, and in Wie is Sieberen Storm? you help a lawyer investigate the mysterious tenant of the upstairs rooms before he comes home. Groups of 2 to 10 play each room.

The experience
The atmosphere and the groups this venue has in mind.
Atmosphere
The farm calls these 'inscape' rooms: instead of being locked in one space you move through several rooms of the old farmhouse and can leave whenever you wish. The wider grounds offer farm activities such as cow cuddling, clog golf and fierljeppen, making the escape room one of many things to do on one site.
Who it suits
Company outings, team days, family days and groups of friends in Friesland, including big parties of up to 48 players who start in staggered 30-minute waves so there is little waiting. Children can help the grown-ups on family outings, but the rooms are not suitable for kids' birthday parties.
Good to know

Gift vouchers can be ordered online and meals can be arranged for the whole day.
