About
Named after the notorious Bokkenrijders robber bands of Limburg history, the game is deliberately designed so that a whole group of six to fourteen can play together as one team over three rooms and an hour and a half. Before or after, players can unwind with drinks, bitterballen or lunch on the terrace or inside, and groups of 14 or more can end with an all-in barbecue. Parkhoeve de Middelt adds activities such as bubble football, farm golf, tandem rides through the castle village of Baarlo and vintage Solex tours along the Maas.
The games
1 game to choose from
Escaperoom de Bokkenrijders is built for big groups. One story runs across three connected rooms on an old farm in Limburg, giving teams of six to fourteen a generous 90 minutes to escape. You stand in the empty farmhouse of a wealthy farmer who has just received a burning-letter threat from the Bokkenrijders, the legendary band of thieves said to ride goats by night, and you have to crack the puzzles and get out before they come to burn the place down.
The experience
The atmosphere and the groups this venue has in mind.
Atmosphere
Folklore with a real regional pedigree: the Bokkenrijders legend brings pacts with the devil, midnight raids and arson threats into a detailed period setting. The longer playing time lets the group search, argue and celebrate without the usual hour-long rush, and afterwards you can talk it through on a terrace over drinks.
Who it suits
Company outings, family days, stag and hen parties and friend groups of six or more, since the game is designed for a whole group at once. It combines easily with farmers' golf, a Solex ride along the Maas, a tandem photo puzzle tour, bubble football or an all-in barbecue.
